LEARN TO BOWL

Privacy policy · Effective October 22, 2026 · Bit Universe

This policy applies to Learn to Bowl on Meta Quest, published by Bit Universe, operated by Kevin Savill. It is separate from the policies for our other games. Contact support@bit-universe.net about privacy, support or deletion.

Offline play and information on your headset

Solo bowling, lessons, practice, challenges, CPU games and shared-headset local play work offline. The game stores local profile nicknames, handedness, calibration, input and comfort settings, lesson and challenge progress, cosmetic unlocks, bowling records and an unfinished match in app storage. Saves may include a backup and a temporary recovery file. Other local players using the same app storage can see the profiles and records on that headset.

The game reads headset, controller and optical-hand tracking to place the view and hands, recognize gestures and simulate a delivery. Short shot information is held in memory for coaching and replay. Ordinary release gameplay does not upload raw motion recordings. Development/test builds may record controller throws locally for testing; these builds and recordings are handled separately from the public release.

The game does not request microphone recordings, eye tracking, camera images, room scans, contacts or precise geographic location. It does not include advertising, in-app purchases, a player chat service or developer gameplay analytics. Meta and hosting providers may process service information as described below.

Mixed ages and Meta account services

Learn to Bowl is designed for ages 10 and up on supported Meta Quest accounts and devices. It requests the age category supplied by Meta, rather than a birthday, to choose an appropriate experience. The game keeps that category in session memory. Children and users whose age category is unavailable can use offline and local modes; online friend rooms are available only to verified teen and adult accounts. A local profile nickname does not change the Meta account category.

Meta platform services check app access and supply age categories. Meta handles distribution, purchases and its platform features under Meta's Privacy Policy. We do not receive payment card details. Platform backup settings may retain or restore app data; deleting a local profile does not necessarily delete Meta account records or platform backups.

Optional online friend rooms

When an eligible player creates or joins a room, the game sends the chosen nickname and room commands to our bowling service over HTTPS. The service creates random player and match identifiers and a private session credential. It processes room membership, readiness, connection state, CPU settings and bowling results to run the match and recover interrupted connections. Other room participants receive player names, room status and scores. The game does not send live head or hand motion to this service.

Your device saves the room address and recovery credential so an interrupted session can resume. Do not share that credential. A room code lets other people find the room; share codes only with people you want to invite. You can hide player names immediately and leave a room from the game.

Our service and network providers process IP addresses and connection/security information needed to deliver and protect the service. Transient IP rate-limit records expire after about a minute. Live room records expire after two hours without a state change, with an absolute 24-hour session limit; cleanup runs periodically. A server restart also ends its transient rooms. For safe deletion retries, a hash of the session credential may remain for about one minute without the nickname or credential itself. Leaving is not the same as requesting deletion: use the game's online deletion control or contact support.

Reports, moderation and support

You can report conduct from the Meta system menu and send support or privacy requests to support@bit-universe.net. Reports processed through Meta use its reporting service and may include the information and evidence you choose to submit. We use reports to investigate conduct and take proportionate action. We may retain restricted report/security information while needed to investigate abuse, protect players or satisfy legal duties.

If you email us, we receive your address, message and attachments. We use them to answer your request and investigate problems. Include the game name, version and a description of the issue; do not send passwords, recovery tokens, payment details or unrelated personal information. We retain correspondence only while needed for the request and any necessary follow-up or legal/security record.

Deletion and privacy requests

In the game's Players menu, delete a local profile to remove its save and recovery copies. This is permanent for that installation. The deleted player's identity is also removed from other local profiles' unfinished shared matches while their scores remain. Device-wide preferences and other profiles remain. For a full local reset, use the headset's app-storage controls; review platform backups as well if you do not want old data restored.

In Online Friends, choose Privacy and safety, then Delete my online session. This removes the service credential and identifying nickname from that room and clears the saved recovery credential. A de-identified scorecard can remain until the room expires so the other players' match can finish. Other participants may previously have seen your shared name or scores.

You or a parent/guardian can email support@bit-universe.net with the subject Learn to Bowl privacy request to request access, correction or deletion of information we control. Include a room code and approximate date/time if relevant, but never a session credential. We may ask for limited information to verify the request. Meta account and platform-backup requests must also be directed to Meta. Rights and exceptions depend on your location.

Providers, security and changes

We use hosting/network and email providers to deliver the service and support. These providers may process information in other countries under their applicable terms and safeguards. We do not sell player information or use it for targeted advertising. We limit access to operational and support purposes and use HTTPS for online service traffic; no service can promise absolute security.

This website uses self-hosted assets and does not add advertising or developer analytics. Hosting providers process information necessary to serve and protect the site. We update this policy when the game's data practices change and show the effective date above.
